Do this first

Subscribe to our official mods

Before you connect, subscribe to the Relentless Dawn Workshop collection. This downloads every mod the server needs so you avoid mismatch errors on join.

  1. Open the collection link below (Steam must be running).
  2. Click Subscribe to all (or Subscribe on the collection page).
  3. Wait for Steam to finish downloading — you can watch progress in your Steam Downloads tab.
  4. Optional but recommended: in Project Zomboid’s main menu → Mods, enable the collection so local testing matches the server.

Stuck on mod mismatch later? Unsubscribe from all Workshop items, launch the game once, then join again — the server will push the correct list.

1

Open the Join screen

Launch Project Zomboid. From the main menu, click Join (multiplayer). You’ll see the server browser / favorites list.

2

Add Server

Click Add Server (sometimes labeled under favorites). This opens a form where you enter our IP and port so the game can find Relentless Dawn.

Add Server button in Project Zomboid join menu
Step 1 — Click Add Server
3

Enter server details

Fill in the fields exactly as shown:

  • IP 66.51.99.50
  • Port 16261

You can leave other fields default unless staff tells you otherwise. Click Save when the IP and port look correct.

4

Add a new account

Multiplayer needs a local account (username + password) stored on your PC. Click Add New Account (or similar wording on your version).

This is not your Steam login — it’s only for this game’s multiplayer characters on servers that require accounts.

5

Create username & password

Choose a username and password you’ll remember. Write them down somewhere safe — you’ll need the same account every time you join Relentless Dawn.

  • Username is often what other players see related to your login (character name is chosen separately in-game).
  • Use a unique password; don’t reuse important ones.
  • Click Save when both fields are filled.

6

Join the server

Select Relentless Dawn from your favorites / server list, make sure your new account is selected, then click Join (or Play / Connect).

  • First connect may take a few minutes while mods verify or download.
  • If the game asks about missing mods, let it download, or return to Step 0 and confirm the collection is subscribed.
  • When the world loads, create your survivor (traits, appearance) and spawn into Knox Country.

Join Discord (strongly recommended)

Rules, tickets, LFG, events, and live help all live on Discord. New players especially benefit from asking questions there if something fails during join.

Troubleshooting

Mod / Workshop mismatch

Unsubscribe from all Workshop mods → launch the game once → join again so the server can send the correct set. Or re-subscribe to the official collection.

Can’t find the server / connection failed

Double-check IP 66.51.99.50 and port 16261. Confirm you’re on B42 Stable. Check Status and Discord for downtime.

Wrong branch / version

Steam → Project Zomboid → Properties → Betas → public/stable B42 (not random experimental branches unless announced).

Forgot account password

Create a new local multiplayer account, or ask staff on Discord if you need character recovery help (policies vary).
